Assignment 1 Part A- Inside the Actors Studio
Inside the Actors Studio is a very popular

in common is what James Lipton asks them all at the very end. Below are a
series of questions taken from the show that you will be asking your partner.
Your Goals: |
Focus on your partner and
distance your awareness of the camera
Be honest and natural. Don’t
over-express.
Speak clearly and with
intention. Know your message and purpose, let your audience know the same.
Get comfortable with the camera
in your presence
Keep your answers short and
specific
Have fun!
|
The questions are:
-
What is your name?
-
What is your favorite word?
-
What makes you happy?
-
What bothers you?
-
What sound do you love?
-
What sound do you hate?
-
Who do you see as heroic?
-
What are you afraid of?

If today was your last day, what
would you most want people to remember you by?
Assignment 1 - Part B On Camera Reflection
Please write this in the "Reflections" Page of your blog. Please make a title for your response and call it "On Camera Reflection" Failure to do these will result in a zero.
After observing yourself on screen, carefully consider your experience with your
on camera interview.
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being very
uncomfortable and 10 being completely relaxed, how would you rate your
experience and provide a short explanation for the reason you have given
yourself the score you have.
The topics you need to respond to are:
- When you first thought about being on camera
- Preparing for the interview
- Being interviewed
- Interviewing your partner
- Watching video of yourself.
Please post your reflections on your blog in your Reflections page. Please label this Reflection "On Camera Reflection"
Assignment 2 - Film Terms
Before we can even begin to discuss films, we need to make sure that everyone understands the terminology. Your assignment today is to complete this worksheet. You will need to use a number of different websites, I would start with Media College and work from there.
Please post your completed work via Google Drive to your blog page entitled Visual Composition. Please have this assignment clearly labelled as "Assignment 2"

Assignment 4 - Watching a Movie
For the next two days, we will be watching a
movie to get us comfortable with films, in order to do this; we first need to
establish what the best way of watching a movie is. Your “ideal movie
situation” is as different as snowflakes and no two people will be exactly
alike. Think about what your ideal movie situation is, if you would like to bring
a small snack to watch the film that is allowed but please ensure that it is
nut free.
The film we are about to watch is a cult
classic and has many sarcastic scenes as well as some interesting film shots.
Please complete this PowerPoint while we are watching the film.
Assignment 5 - Visual Composition
Now that we have completed the film as well as our Elements and Principles of Design. I would like you to please complete this PowerPoint.
Assignment 6 - Premier Tutorial
Before we begin today, it is important to understand how to upload footage to Premiere. If you have not learned this yet, please talk to your instructor. Today we will be going through the joys of Premiere, how to make your life easy and how to save all of your footage in case something awful happens.
